Intermediate Vintage Dressmaking Workshop: V1799

Intermediate Vintage Dressmaking Workshop: V1799

Together we’re making Vogue 1799, a front buttoned shirt dress with welt pockets, full length sleeves with band and button trim.  Patch pockets and a self tie belt.

We’re using basic couture construction techniques, working the dress up in muslin during workshop hours, however after the workshop is completed participants are allowed 4 hours of in-studio time to work on the dress in its final fashion fabric.

Some of what to expect:

  • Toile workup

  • Learn how to make button holes and hand apply

  • Make patch pockets

  • Hand sewing

Saturdays: Feb 16, 23 & Mar. 2, 2019

You’ll have access to and use of a professional dress form and other essential tools to use during the workshop.

What to bring to the workshop: A sewing machine, shears, thread, 6 yards muslin and 1 1/2 yards of woven interfacing. Muslin/interfacing kits are available for sale on this website.
